Safe Withdrawal Rate (4% Rule)
Also known as: 4 percent rule, withdrawal rate, swr
The safe withdrawal rate is the percentage of your retirement corpus you can withdraw annually (adjusting for inflation) with a high chance of not running out — the famous “4% rule” (which underpins the 25× corpus target). For India’s higher inflation and longer/early retirements, a more conservative ~3–3.5% or flexible withdrawals are often wiser.
