Safe Haven

A safe haven is an asset that tends to hold or gain value during crises and market panic (risk-off), when investors flee risky assets. Classic havens are the US dollar, US Treasuries, gold and sometimes the yen. The crisis signature: stocks fall and the rupee weakens while gold and the dollar rise.
