Moving Average

Also known as: moving averages, sma, ema, ma

A moving average (MA) averages price over the last N periods into a single flowing line, filtering out noise to reveal the trend. An SMA weights all periods equally (smooth, slower); an EMA weights recent prices more (faster, noisier). The 50- and 200-day MAs are the most watched, often acting as dynamic support/resistance.
