Retail Quota (IPO)

In a mainboard IPO, at least 35% of the issue is typically reserved for Retail Individual Investors — applications up to ₹2 lakh. Within the quota, oversubscribed allotments are decided by lottery of minimum lots, not proportionally: applying for one lot from several family members’ accounts beats one large application. Above ₹2 lakh you compete in the HNI category instead.
