Intrinsic Value

Intrinsic value is an estimate of an asset’s true worth based on its fundamentals (future cash flows, assets, earnings) — independent of its current market price. Value investing is buying when price is below intrinsic value. It’s an estimate, not a precise number, so use a margin of safety.
