A candlestick encodes a period’s Open, High, Low and Close in one shape: a body (between open and close) and wicks (the high/low extremes). Its colour shows who won the period — green/up if it closed above its open, red/down if below. Candles make the buyer-vs-seller battle visible at a glance.
